Letter to the Editor - Eganville Leader

Dear Editor,

It seems that we are taking some heat for not being ready for the election on October 14^th. We honestly believed that when Stephen Harper set a fixed election date in law that he would abide by it. After all the fuss that the Harper conservatives made about the liberals and their political opportunism I didn’t expect the same from them. Now I know better and I can’t wait to hear Cheryl Gallant defend her party’s tax cuts to the banks and oil companies while we struggle with rising fuel and food prices. Ordinary families are struggling to make ends meet and the conservatives don’t care. I’m ready for this election – I filed my papers and we opened an office in Pembroke today. I am more than ready to debate Mrs. Gallant and hope she does us the courtesy of showing up for the debates this time.
